I. Early Years
A. Chandragupta was born in 340 BC.
B. His mother's name was Mura witch is where the Mauryan Empire is assumed to get it's name from.

ii. SIGNIFICANT events
A. Chandragupta built up a 700,000 soldiers and 9,000 elephants to defeat the weak northern India. Once he conquered them he was able to unite the whole empire.
B. Chandragupta had a goal to unite his whole empire so they were all one. In order to do this he built up a strong central government. He also built this road that stretched over 1,000 miles so the empire has one central way of government.
C. Chandragupta left a great empire to pass down to his and grandson who also were great leaders.
D. Toward the end of his life he gave up the thrown and passed it down to his son. He then became a ascetic who traveled with monks.
